Questions

The short answers.

Is TrackAPM really private?
Yes. Everything stays on your Mac. There's no account, no server, no analytics, no telemetry. Your numbers never leave the machine they're counted on.
What counts as an action?
Every keystroke and every mouse click. TrackAPM only sees the fact that a key or button went down — never which key, never what you typed, never where you clicked.
Does it work with external keyboards and mice?
Yes. TrackAPM listens at the system level, so anything that registers with macOS as a keypress or a click is counted — built-in, wired, or wireless.
What does Focus mode do?
Focus mode filters your score to real work — editor, terminal, design tool, writing app. Slack spikes don't juice your number.
Won't this just make me anxious?
Only if you let it. The only scoreboard here is yours — there's no leaderboard, no team average, no one to lose to but yesterday-you. Bad days don't break your streak; they set the floor.
Does my data sync across Macs?
Not today. Each Mac keeps its own count, streak, and history. Sync is on the roadmap. We'd rather ship it right than ship it fast.
Is there a Windows or Linux version?
No, and there won't be. TrackAPM is built to feel like it belongs on macOS — menubar, SwiftUI, all of it. Porting it would compromise that.
How much will it cost?
The private beta is free. After launch it'll be a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store — priced like the small, focused tool it is.
When can I try it?
Soon. The private beta is opening in waves; tap the App Store button above to be in the next one.
